A Fine Glass of French Red Wine

The Bordeaux region is the most important wine producing region in France and perhaps in the world. For that reason, Bordeaux is probably one of the most popular wines in France.

In Paris, I could not help but savor the delicious Bordeaux varieties--dry, sweet, blended. The wines were all so delicious! One thing I never got around to last time I was in Paris was a tour of one of Bordeaux's famous chateaux. To visit the magnificent palaces and walk along the vineyards would be absolutely magical!

I prefer the Bordeaux region for its full-bodied red wines but France has so much more to offer! Like Burgundy, Loire, Champagne and Corsica to name a few. Next time you are in Paris, I highly recommend taking at least a day trip to visit one of these beautiful regions. Take a tour, have a picnic, do a wine tasting or just marvel at the incredible architecture. Cheers!

A Day with the Kids at the Musée d'Orsay

The Musee d’ Orsay, a famous museum in Paris, is housed in a former railroad station dating back to the late 1800's.

Before even entering the museum to see all of the wonderful art collections displayed, the edifice itself is quite impressive. First, you must view the museum from the right bank of the Seine River. Here, you can marvel at the gorgeous structure for all its worth.

Once inside, the museum's collections are mainly French art dating from 1848 to 1915, including paintings, sculptures, furniture, and photography. The museum is noted for housing the world's largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist masterpieces by such artists such as Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cezanne, Seurat, Gauguin and Van Gogh. Prior to the museum's opening in 1986, many of these works were held at the Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume.

Not only is the Orsay a museum for adults to revel in the beautiful collections, but it is also a fun museum for kids! Paris Luxe offers a fun-filled museum tour whereby children are put to the test with a scavenger hunt to find certain pieces of artwork in the museum. But no running! Afterward, families can discuss which pieces of art they loved most over a cup of hot chocolate.
